It's hard to believe the holiday season is just around the corner and we will soon be welcoming in a new year. As we approach the end of 2023, there is a lot going on in and around the Town of Lexington.
I hope everyone enjoyed the Second Annual Scarecrow Stroll down Main Street. It's great to see what local businesses come up with each year to decorate the light pales in the Downtown area. You will soon see crews from aur Parks Department hanging up Christmas lights and decorations araund Town.
The decorating, which takes about a month to complete, is done a head of the Snowball Festival where we turn on all of the Christmas lights araund Town for the season. The Snowball Festival is a four-day event at Icehouse Amphitheater that starts on Thursday, November 30 with a Christmas Craft Fair and wraps up with a parade down Main Street on Sunday, December 3. There is also a Carolighting Ceremony, Christmas movies, a carnival and more. A reminder that the Veterans Parade is on Sunday, November 5 at 3 p.m. down Main Street. The parade is a way to pay tribute to aur veterans, active military, ROTC groups and first responders.
Don't forget to vote in the election on November 7. In the Town of Lexington the Mayor's seat and three Town Council seats are on the ballot. The winners of the election will be sworn in at the Council Meeting on December 4.
