As fall gets underway, the renovation and expansion of Virginia Hylton Park is really moving alang!
Equipment installation for the playground is well underway. In the teen area, the friendship swing pergola has been installed and the concrete for that structure has been poured. Grading work for the splash pad and some of the trails has begun. On the Town Hall side of the park, the picnic shelters have been completed and finishing touches are going on the performance amphitheater. Construction is expected to be completed in late Spring of 2024.
Meanwhile, over at Icehouse Amphitheater, the Fall Icehouse Live Concert Series presented by Lexington Medical Center is underway. The first show is on Thursday, August 31 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. featuring The Hitmen. The concerts are free and are held each Thursday night through October S. Food, beer and wine are available to purchase at each show.
If you haven't made it out to The Market, you have until the end of September to do so! Each Saturday, come out to the Icehouse Amphitheater Pavilion to see what local vendors have to offer. While you listen to Iive music, you can check out a variety of fresh produce, flowers, pottery, woodwork, jewelry and more each week from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
