Chief Terrence Green is announcing the arrest of Bryan Wesley Rogers, age 58 of Wellsford, South Carolina, from an undercover investigation where he traveled to the Town of Lexington to meet with a minor for sex, who was instead an undercover detective.
On January 11, 2023, a detective with the Lexington Police Department, who is on the South Carolina Attorney General Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC), was contacted by Bryan Rogers through social media, believing that the profile was of a young teenage girl. When the undercover detective told Bryan Rogers about her age, he responded by saying, “I like young peeps.” Bryan Rogers continued saying that he wanted to take her to a hotel and have sex. Bryan Rogers engaged in continued sexual conversation with the undercover detective, sent nude photographs of himself and pornography.

On January 12, 2023, Bryan Rogers drove to the Town of Lexington to meet with who he believed was a teenage girl to have sex with her. When he arrived at the meeting location, he was arrested by detectives of the Lexington Police Department and then transported to the Lexington County Detention Center.
Bryan Rogers was charged with Attempted Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor, Age 11 – 14, two charges of Attempted Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, two charges of Attempted Unlawful Dissemination of Obscene Material to a Minor, and Attempted Criminal Solicitation of a Minor.
When seen at Lexington County Bond Court this morning, Bryan Rogers was given a personal recognizance bond on all charges.
