[ARCHIVED] Concern for Other Victims in Criminal Sexual Conduct Arrest

Chief Terrence Green is announcing the arrest of Michael Bruce Worthy, age 32 of Lexington, for sexually assaulting a juvenile on Monday, July 11, 2022.

 

During this investigation, detectives found that Michael Worthy had been at the home of a family friend and engaged in unwanted and unlawful sexual contact with a fifteen-year-old girl.  When interviewed, Michael Worthy admitted to sexually assaulting the juvenile to include intentionally touching her genitalia with his hand.  

 

Due to what detectives have found through this case, there are concerns that there may be other juvenile victims who have also been sexually assaulted by Michael Worthy.

At the conclusion of his interview, Michael Worthy was arrested for Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor 2nd Degree and transported to the Lexington County Detention Center.  

 

When seen by a judge at Lexington County Bond Court, he was given a bond of $75,000 with the restrictions of having no contact with the victim, the victim’s family, or anyone under the age of 18.
