Mayor's Message by Steve MacDougall

Summer is almost here and as we look ahead to warmer weather, there are plenty of events planned in the Town of Lexington for you and the family to enjoy.

Our Lexington Live Concert Series at Icehouse Amphitheater continues this month. The concerts are every Thursday and will wrap up on May 20. Admission is free and each week features different food vendors, along with beer and wine available to purchase. Stadium chairs are allowed but remember that lawn chairs, umbrellas, book bags, weapons of any kind, aerosol cans, laser pointers and outside food and drink are prohibited.

On Saturday, May 8 from 6pm-10pm the Icehouse Amphitheater Pavilion will host the Lexington Wine Walk. This year, food trucks will have food available for purchase. Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 the week of and include a wine glass, wine tasting and music by the Going Commando Band. To purchase tickets and for more information, visit

Proceeds from the Wine Walk benefit the Lexington Beautification Foundation which is a non-profit organization dedicated to beautifying the Town of Lexington. Money raised this year will go to the major expansion and renovation of Virginia Hylton Park.

Finally, The Market at Icehouse Amphitheater will return on Saturday, May 22. The Market will run from 9am-lpm on Saturdays (with the exception of July 3) through the end of September. Come out and enjoy live music and see what local vendors have to offer.
