Our department is frequently asked by schools, churches, businesses, and community groups for instruction on what to do if they encounter someone who is bleeding from an injury and how they should react if they are in an active shooter event and we have multiple instructors who routinely teach C.R.A.S.E. and STOP THE BLEED classes within our community.
C.R.A.S.E. is a two-hour course, designed and built on the Avoid, Deny, Defend strategy developed by ALERRT, which provides strategies, guidance, and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event.
STOP THE BLEED is a two-hour course that teaches participants three quick actions which can be used to save a life with guidance on the use of tourniquets and wound packing.
The C.R.A.S.E. and STOP THE BLEED classes are each offered monthly at the Lexington Police Department and instructors are also available to teach classes to groups in the Town of Lexington as well.
