Recognizing that many in the Town of Lexington community trade or shop online, the Lexington Police Department created an "Internet Purchase Exchange Area," which is located in front of the Town of Lexington Municipal Complex at 111 Maiden Lane in Lexington, South Carolina.
This marked parking lot area is video monitored and increases the safety of buyers and sellers when they meet for an exchange.
The placement of the Internet Purchase Exchange Location was chosen since the front parking lot is easily accessible from Maiden Lane and there is an exterior video camera on the building which records that specific area of the parking lot 24 hours a day.
