The Town of Lexington will once again be on the national stage for baseball!
We are fortunate to announce the Big South Conference is returning to Lexington for the 2017 Baseball Championship. The road to Omaha starts right here as last year's tournament winner went on to win the College World Series.
The Lexington County Recreation and Aging Commission will host the 2017 Championship Tournament at the Lexington County Stadium May 23-27, 2017. The tournament, which includes South Carolina Teams - Charleston Southern University, Presbyterian College and Winthrop University, will be played on national television, showcasing our community's state-of-the-art stadium.
Additionally, visitors will be able to enjoy our beautiful and historic quality of life amenities such as Lake Murray, Virginia Hylton Park and the Lexington County Museum. The Big South Conference brings a wonderful delegation to the Midlands Region and a positive impact on our community's economic development.
Council and I send best wishes to all the teams and encourage our residents to take in a game or two, as great way to kick-off the summer season.
