The Town of Lexington is proud to collaborate with programs serving our active duty Military. This year, the Town is working with Ding Dong Divas to promote the USO's "Operation Exodus". The program will be collecting snacks to stuff goodie bags for distribution to the more than 6,000 Fort Jackson soldiers headed home for two-week Christmas break.

The Lexington Police Department is one of the finest public safety agencies in the state. Council and I are extremely proud of the men and women that serve on our police force and their continued commitment to making the Town of Lexington a safer community for our citizens.

Through the Vision Plan, adopted in May 2012, the Town of Lexington has embarked on several projects to enhance the quality of life for our citizens.

The Town of Lexington just announced our newest phase of the Vision Plan, a "roadmap" for development in the Town of Lexington over the next 20 years by prioritizing and leveraging public resources that will attract private sector investment.

Summer is in full swing and we are certainly in a heat wave! The Lexington Police Department works hard to ensure our communities most vulnerable are staying cool this season through the Fan Donation Program and Elderly Home Checks.

As I prepare to give my second State of the Town Address, I can't help but beam with pride reflecting on all we have accomplished in 2014 but Council and I also know there is always more work that can and will be done. Here is an in depth look at one of our most anticipated projects, the Adaptive Computerized Signalization System.
