Steve Baker

Town Council Member

Entered Town Council: November 2016

Current Term Expires: November 2021

Steve has been a resident of Lexington since 2001.  He is very involved with his community and enjoys serving the citizens of the Town of Lexington.  Steve also serves internationally when possible by participating in mission trips.

Steve was the controller and minority owner of Baker Collision Express which was founded by his grandfather in 1953.  Gerber Collision and Glass purchased three locations from Baker Collision Express in 2019. Steve was retained as the Market Manager for South Carolina and also 3 locations in South Georgia as well as overseeing Gerber acquisitions in the state.

Since serving on Council as one of the youngest members, Steve has focused on learning about the processes of municipalities in order to better serve the citizens.  He has participated in several of the Town’s Boards and Commission meetings as well as other community meetings in order to learn firsthand what issues concern the citizens and what means are available to make improvements.  He has enjoyed working alongside the Mayor and fellow Council Members to help Lexington achieve responsible growth while maintaining its small town charm.

Steve is married to July, and they have two young daughters who are both incredibly special blessings.  They are active members of Waters Edge Church and they both look to make a difference where they live.
