The Utilities Department oversees the maintenance of the water and sewer lines for the Town of Lexington . The department currently handles the maintenance of 165.31 miles of sewer lines and 192.37 water lines, 394 manholes, 938 fire hydrants,49 pump stations, 3 elevated storage tanks, 2 ground storage tanks and 4 high service pumps and 1 1.95 MGD Wastewater Treatment Plant with 26 staff members.

The department reviews plans, handles system development, inspection of new construction, project quotes, availability of services, deeds and easements, DHEC Coordination, and Stormwater.
If you experience any type of water and or sewer problems call the Utilities Department at 359-2434 before calling a plumber. The Utilities Department has on call services available 24 hours a day. The Utilities Department will determine if the problem is the customers responsibility and notify you if you need to contact someone to take care of the problem. The Town maintains the lines from the tap to the street and the customer is responsible from the tap to the house. |
