ROADWAY REPAIRS TO HOGAN COURT AND RAYMOND CIRCLE FOR THE TOWN OF LEXINGTON

The Town of Lexington, SC is soliciting sealed bids from qualified Contractors for: ROADWAY REPAIRS TO HOGAN COURT AND RAYMOND CIRCLE .

Sealed Bids Clearly Marked "ROADWAY REPAIRS TO HOGAN COURT AND RAYMOND CIRCLE RFB No. T-17.02" with the bidders name, address and South Carolina Contractor's license number on the outside of the envelope shall be accepted by the Town of Lexington Purchasing Agent, 111 Maiden Lane, Lexington, South Carolina 29072, until 11:00 am, Thursday, January 14, 2010. Bids will not be accepted after the above date and time. Bids will be opened publicly in the Eli Mack Room located at the Lexington Town Hall , 111 Maiden Lane , Lexington , South Carolina 29072 . Bid Prices shall remain valid for 120 days following the bid opening.

Pre-Bid Conference: A pre-bid conference shall be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 10:30am in the Conference Room C located at the above address. T he pre-bid conference is highly recommended for any contractor submitting a bid for this project.

The Work Consists Of : Full Depth Patching as required (6" depth), approximately 40 SY with six inches of HMA Intermediate Binder Course Type C, and resurfacing of 2.5 inches of HMA Surface Course Type C to improve 2 roadways totaling 0.38 miles in the Golden Hills Country Club of Lexington, South Carolina. Detailed quantities are included in the contract documents Section E: Bid Form.

Drawings, Specifications & Contract Documents may be obtained from the office of the Engineer, Dennis Corporation, 5000 Thurmond Mall Suite 114, Columbia SC 29201, Phone 803-252-0991 , for a non-refundable charge of $60.00. When requesting drawings, specifications or contract documents, provide the following information about your company: mailing address, street address, e-mail address (if applicable), telephone number, and fax number. All questions must be in writing and submitted before January 5, 2010.

Bids Will Not Be Considered unless the bidder is legally qualified under the provisions of the South Carolina Contractor's Licensing Law (South Carolina Code of Laws as amended). No bidder may withdraw the bid within 60 business days after the actual date of the opening.

Bids Will Not Be Considered unless sealed accompanied by a bidder's bond, for 5 percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. Bid bond will be duly executed by the bidder as principal & having as surety thereon a surety company licensed to do business in the State of South Carolina. Successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory performance & payment bond each in the amount of 100 percent (100%) of the bid.

All Work On The Project Must Be Completed by May 31, 2010 .

The Town of Lexington Reserves the Right in all cases to reject any and / or all bids, or parts of bids, to waive technicalities, and to make such an award as is deemed in the best interest of the Town of Lexington. The Town also reserves the right to waive informalities, to negotiate further with the Contractor of its choice, and to request additional information, to interview and to make an award deemed in its own best interest. All submittals shall become property of the Town and is subject to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) regulations.
