Chief Terrence Green

A native of Georgetown,SC, Chief Green is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the College of Criminal Justice.  As a student with University of South Carolina, Chief Green began his law enforcement career with the University of South Carolina Police Department as a reserve police officer. He joined the Lexington Police Department in 1993 and rose through the ranks as a patrolman, corporal, investigator and patrol commander for the department.

A recent graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy (Session 217), Chief Green is a recipient of the S.C. Department of Public Safety Palmetto Award, Lexington Police Department Officer of the Year, and American Police Hall of Fame Award. Chief Green currently resides in the Dutch Fork Community and is married with three children. He is an active member of the Brookland Baptist Church (West Columbia, SC) and is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Public Administration.  His hobbies include spending time with his family, cooking on the grill, and attending Carolina football games.


Major Jay Koon (Assistant Chief)

Jay Koon is a native of Lexington, South Carolina and is a graduate of Lexington High School. He received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of South Carolina. He worked as a reserve police officer with the University of South Carolina Division of Law Enforcement & Safety while in school. Major Koon joined the Lexington Police Department in 1994 and has worked his way up through the ranks since that time.

Major Koon is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy (Session 235), Leadership Lexington County graduate and an Eagle Scout. He is a member of The Lexington Technology Center 's Advisory Committee. He has been an assistant baseball coach with the Lexington and Cayce/West Columbia Dixie Youth teams and a scout leader.

He and his wife, Kim, live in Lexington with their two children and are members of Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church.
