New Scenic Overlook at Gibson Pond Park
The Town of Lexington, the Greater Lexington Chamber of Commerce and the Lexington Sertoma Club hosted a Ribbon Cutting for the new Scenic Overlook at Gibson Pond Park on Tuesday, August 31, 2010.
The new Scenic Overlook was made possible through a partnership by the Town of Lexington and the Lexington Sertoma Club. The Club hosted the inaugural Carolina-Clemson Big Thursday Tailgate fundraiser last fall, which raised $8,110. This generous donation help provide partial funding for the project.
The Overlook, which is ADA accessible, allows all residents the opportunity to get an up close and personal view of the cascading waterfall located at Gibson Pond Park.
The Sertoma Club will host the 2nd Annual Big Thursday event this fall to help raise funds to help expand Gibson Pond Park. The event will take place October 21 at 6pm in the Town of Lexington Municipal Complex Conference Center.
