Despite COVID-19, the Town of Lexington continues to break ground on major projects. Construction has begun on both the lcehouse Amphitheater Pavilion and the Gibson Pond Park dam.
The lcehouse Pavilion will be the next staple for the downtown area. It will be situated along Church Street and will span 44 ft. across and 150 ft. long. The Pavilion will be an open-air building with overhead fans and outdoor heaters. Once complete, it will be the new home to the Market at lcehouse. Construction is anticipated to take 8 months.
Construction has also begun on rebuilding the dam at Gibson Pond Park, after it was destroyed during the 2015 flood. This is a complete rebuild of the dam and it will feature two docks. There are also plans to restock the pond with fish. The park is closed for the duration of construction, which is expected to be completed late this year.
Both projects are a result of the Town’s Vision Plan. Visit www.lexsc.com to see a complete list of projects identified by Council.
