July 2017

Lexington is my hometown... a wonderful community to live, work, play and learn. The Lexington Police Department is a major factor in why our municipality has flourished as outstanding public safety is a top priority for Town Council.

The 57 sworn officers, 3 sworn reserve officers, K-9 unit and 3 administrative staff of our police department are committed to enhancing the quality of life within the Town of Lexington.

The department strives to engage the community through various special events throughout the year including the annual Citizen’s Academy, designed to give residents an up close and personal look at the police department; the annual National Night Out Celebration at Lexington Square Park, teaching citizens to stand as a community to combat crime; the annual Fall Fest, raising money for the Adopt-A-Cop program and Toys for Tots, where the department joins forces with the United States Marine Corps providing Christmas presents to children in need.

Also, The Lexington Police Department maintains an exemplary level of professionalism and is an international (CALEA) and state (SCLEA) accredited agency. Additionally, the Department has been named “Agency of the Year” by SC Department of Public Safety in 2014 and 2016, for their efforts in DUI enforcement.

Council and I are immensely proud of the entire department. Their efforts to keep you, the residents, safe and sound each day are top notch... not only in the Midlands, but in the state and nation.

Thank you Lexington Police Department, keep up the great work!
