August 2015

The Town of Lexington just announced our newest phase of the Vision Plan, a "roadmap" for development in the Town of Lexington over the next 20 years by prioritizing and leveraging public resources that will attract private sector investment.

Downtown Improvements
-The primary focus of the project is to improve traffic flow through the downtown Lexington area.

Crossroad Improvements @ Lake Dr. & Sunset Blvd.
- The focus of the project is to improve safety and operation of an intersection that serves over 40,000 vehicles per day.

Corley Mill @Sunset Blvd. Gateway Improvements
- The focus of the project is to improve current traffic flow through the Corley Mill Road and US 378 intersection which serves as the primary Gateway to the Town.

The projects will be funded through the implementation of hospitality tax allowing the more than 100,000 daily town visitors to assist in the maintenance of road infrastructure instead of increasing property taxes, which would be specific to town residents.

Town Council will host various meetings regarding the funding mechanism.
